Survivor pool strategy and straight-up picks for Week 13

We’re back with more NFL picks, including a look at Week 13 straight up picks, a Survivor pool, and a look at Thursday Night Football against the spread.

We through Thanksgiving, and December is a day away. It’s safe to say we are coming into the home stretch of the 2017 NFL season. Week 13 gets going with a big rivalry matchup on Thursday Night Football, with the Dallas Cowboys hosting Washington.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers head east to face the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

In the meantime, we are back to the regular full schedule, with TNF, 14 games on Sunday, and then Monday Night Football to close it out. And so, it’s time once again to ponder options in NFL Survivor pools. I was knocked out of my own double elimination pool thanks to back-to-back picks of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos in Weeks 6 and 7. That ended ... poorly.

For anybody still alive, the Los Angeles Chargers at home against the Cleveland Browns will be a popular choice. The Jacksonville Jaguars at home against the Indianapolis Colts could get some love as well, even coming off the loss to Arizona. An interesting but potentially tough choice would be the Oakland Raiders at home against the New York Giants. Given the Michael Crabtree suspension and Amari Cooper’s injuries, the Raiders offense could be incredibly short-handed.

Today, we get a rivalry matchup between Washington the Dallas Cowboys. If Dallas loses, the Philadelphia Eagles will clinch the NFC East. Both Washington and Dallas are struggling to hang around the playoff race, and this will likely serve as an elimination game of sorts for one of the teams. Dallas is a 1.5-point home favorite. They have struggled without Ezekiel Elliott, but I have a feeling they can turn it around against a Washington team struggling in its own right.
