Reuben Foster: ‘I want it all man. I’m hungry, I’m greedy.’

It’s hard not to like Reuben Foster.

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster was named Defensive Rookie of the Month for November, and he was plenty excited on Thursday. Foster spoke with Matt Maiocco, and he would be happy with any kind of recognition. Even made up recognition!

“I want it all man. I’m hungry, I’m greedy. But at the end of the day, anything’s a blessing. If I would have gotten first quarter rookie of the defense, I would have been happy with that, because guess what, they would have nominated me for something. So I’m happy with whatever they give me.”

If Foster can stay on the field the rest of this season, he stands an excellent chance of adding a second rookie of the month award in December. Whether that’s enough for him to claim Defensive Rookie of the Year remains to be seen. If Marshon Lattimore gets back on the field soon, he stands a good chance. But Foster is at least moving into the discussion. And considering how much time he missed with his high ankle sprain and then rib injury, this is impressive stuff.

And honestly, even if he does not win Defensive Rookie of the Year, I just love his happy, go-lucky nature. He is loving life playing for the 49ers, and it’s infectious!
