The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals released their inactive lists for Week 9, and there are no surprises for San Francisco. The team had seven players ruled out for this game on the Friday final injury report. They placed Pierre Garçon on injured reserve Saturday afternoon, leaving them with six automatic inactives. They added Pita Taumoepenu to the list.
The 49ers promoted Darrell Williams from the practice squad following Joe Staley’s injury. He will serve as the swing tackle behind Trent Brown and Zane Beadles. He has spent the whole season on the practice squad.
Taumoepenu is inactive because of the needs at other positions. Wide receiver Victor Bolden and safety Dexter McCoil are needed due to season-ending injuries suffered by Pierre Garçon and Jimmie Ward.
