49ers sign OL Andrew Lauderdale to practice squad, per agent

The 49ers add some PS line depth

The San Francisco 49ers have filled their open practice squad spot after promoting offensive tackle Darrell Williams to the 53-man roster. Andrew Lauderdale is signing a practice squad deal, according to his agent, Christian Kranz.

This is Lauderdale’s second stint with the 49ers. They signed him in May as a UDFA, following injuries to Jeremy Zuttah and Norman Price. He stuck with the team through training camp, but was a roster cut on September 1. You can check out our 90-in-90 post on him.

The 49ers offensive line depth has been shaky, with injuries adding up. Joe Staley is out through at least the bye week, which resulted in Darrell Williams getting promoted. Trent Brown and Erik Magnuson played the tackle positions on Sunday, with Zane Beadles in a reserve role alongside Williams. The 49ers currently have Pace Murphy and John Flynn as offensive line options on the practice squad.
