49ers announce several transactions, including the return of Logan Paulsen ... again

The 49ers need bodies at several positions.

The San Francisco 49ers announced several roster moves Monday afternoon as they work to replenish a depleted roster. The team announced that they have signed wide receiver Louis Murphy and tight end Logan Paulsen. They made room for the signings by placing safety Jaquiski Tartt and tight end Cole Hikutini on injured reserve. They also announced the signing of offensive lineman Andrew Lauderdale to the practice squad.

These will not be the last of the 49ers roster moves this week. They are expected to play Garry Gilliam on IR, and they will be without Trent Taylor, George Kittle, and Elijah Lee this weekend. Suffice to say, they need all the bodies they can find.

Kyle Shanahan was asked if the team would even have 46 healthy active players for Sunday’s game. He indicated they would be signing players, and would see how things shake out as the week progresses. The 49ers return to practice on Wednesday, and Shanahan said they will limit quite a few players throughout the week.

The bye week coming up next week can’t come soon enough.
