The San Francisco 49ers released their first practice participation report of Week 10, and things are not nearly as bad as they seemed earlier this week. Most notably, both Joe Staley (eye) and Solomon Thomas (knee) returned to practice in limited fashion. Both were expected back after the bye week, and while there is no guarantee they play this week, it is good to see them back on the field.
Brock Coyle (shoulder) and Dontae Johnson (shoulder) both practiced, and were listed as full participants. Johnson was mentioned as a guy who might be limited this week. This suggests the shoulder issue is not quite as bad as initially thought. That bodes well for the team’s secondary come Sunday.
Here’s a full rundown of the practice participation report. George Kittle, Elijah Lee, and Trent Taylor are all out for Sunday based on Kyle Shanahan’s Monday comments.
