The San Francisco 49ers released their final injury report for Week 13, and it is mostly fairly good news. Most notable, backup quarterback C.J. Beathard (knee, hip) was removed from the report, while offensive tackle Trent Brown (shoulder), free safety Adrian Colbert (thumb), and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon (ankle) were all listed as questionable.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Trent Brown got in his most extensive reps of the week on Friday, but will still be a game-time decision similar to last week. He was a DNP last Friday, and ended up inactive on Sunday.
Colbert seems like a decent bet to play. Shanahan said he was a game-time decision as well, but also said it would come down to how Colbert felt on Sunday. He said a coach can’t really tell how his thumb is feeling after he runs around before the game. The cast is off, and Shanahan thinks he’s really close, but Sunday will be the decision. Colbert said previously that he wanted to get out there quickly, so if it is up to the rookie, I feel like we’ll see him play. Fingers crossed!
Ahkello Witherspoon suffered an ankle injury on Wednesday in what Shanahan described as a freak thing. He was competing in practice with Aldrick Robinson and landed awkwardly on his ankle. He got some reps on Friday, but will be a game-time decision similar to Trent Brown.
