Odds Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers will win their final three games

The 49ers face a challenging remaining schedule, including the Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Los Angeles Rams.

NFL: San Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers have won three of their last four games, and the last two wins have come in Jimmy Garoppolo’s first two starts for the franchise. The two wins with Garoppolo at the helm came against the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans. The other win was over the New York Giants prior to the bye. All three of those teams are competing for high draft position. The Bears and Texans defenses have talented players, but injuries have led to significant inconsistency.

The 49ers final three games all come against playoff contenders. They host the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars the next two weeks, and then close out the season traveling to face the Los Angeles Rams. The Jaguars and Rams lead their respective divisions, while the Titans hold the top AFC wild card spot.

These three games will provide a useful challenge that will give us a better idea of where Jimmy Garoppolo is as free agency approaches. If he builds on his first two starts over these final three games, I would not be at all surprised to see him sign a big extension.

Our friends at Bovada are offering some odds on these final three games.

Will Jimmy Garoppolo wins all 5 starts to end the 2017 Regular Season?

Yes: +1500 (15/1)
No: -3000 (1/30)

Garoppolo has won his first four career NFL starts, and if the 49ers win on Sunday, he will join Ben Roethlisberger as the only quarterbacks to win their first five career starts. But can he he keep it going and finish the season having won his first seven NFL starts?

The Titans game is very winnable. They have been scuffling lately, with Marcus Mariota struggling a bit in his third season. The Jaguars game could be the toughest remaining game given how dominant that defense has been. At the very least, I think it presents Garoppolo’s biggest remaining challenge. The Rams’ defense is also difficult, but I think a slight notch behind the Jaguars. That Week 17 game should have the Rams playing for something because of how close they are with both Seattle and with a chance at a first round bye.
