Predicting the 49ers inactives for Week 15 vs. Titans

Will Ahkello Witherspoon play against the Titans on Sunday?

The San Francisco 49ers will play the Tennessee Titans and, as usual, we’re going to take a crack at the gameday inactives.

Last week, the 49ers ruled out Brown, running back Jeremy McNichols, defensive back Antone Exum, Jr, linebacker Pita Taumoepenu and defensive tackles Leger Douzable, D.J. Jones and Ronald Blair against the Houston Texans.

The 49ers listed cornerbacks Ahkello Witherspoon and Greg Mabin as questionable on Friday’s injury report. It stands to reason that at least one of them will play. I feel like Witherspoon will play, with Mabin inactive. That likely would create an opportunity for Tyvis Powell to be active since the 49ers promoted him to the active roster after placing Trent Brown on injured reserve.

That means Brown no longer counts as an inactive. I wonder if Exum will be active or get any playing time. The biggest news for last week’s inactive list was Aaron Lynch and Tank Carradine being declared active. I would assume the 49ers still want to see what they can do.

So we can go the easy route and say Douzable, Jones, Blair, Taumoepenu and McNichols are inactive again. Then either both cornerbacks will be inactive, or one of the and one of Exum or Powell, with the other playing. The 49ers could go a few different ways with this.
