The San Francisco 49ers have struggled the past three seasons, and that has led to plenty of empty seats at Levi’s Stadium. The stadium is sold out, but there have been a decent amount of no shows.
That could be changing thanks to Jimmy Garoppolo. Jennifer Chan was driving to the stadium this morning, and there was already a decent-sized line at 9:35 a.m. PT for the 1:25 p.m. kickoff.
Like I said, there’s going to be a nice home crowd today @LevisStadium for #TENvsSF because of #TheGaroppoloEffect

Matt Barrows posted this picture at around 10:50 a.m. showing a growing crowd in the parking lot.
Jimmy effect? Good crowd nearly three hours before #49ers-Titans kickoff. pic.twitter.com/PAakopcWh4

The 49ers face the Titans today, and then wrap up their home schedule next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. If they win today, or at least get a strong game from Jimmy Garoppolo, it should help boost the in-person attendance for their home finale. And heading into the 2018 season, that bodes well for cutting down on no shows.
