Jimmy Garoppolo wins NFL fan vote for QB of the Week for Week 15

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo took home a fan-voted award for his performance in Sunday’s comeback win over the Tennessee Titans. He was named the NFL “FedEx Air Player of the Week” for Week 15. The award is voted on by the fans, and is a chance to slap a sponsorship on something.

While this is not a formal NFL award like player of the month, it does show how his popularity and fan awareness is growing. The other nominees were Eli Manning and Blake Bortles.

I have to think Patriots fans helped out a bit in this one, but in generally, we’re seeing his popularity surging among fans. At Levi’s Stadium, his jersey was sold out earlier this week at the team store. If he finishes December strong, there is no reason to think he does not end up on the list of best selling jerseys for the final quarter of the season.
