The San Francisco 49ers will have tight end Garrett Celek available for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team announced their gameday inactives for the contest but Celek was not among them.
Celek was a limited participant in practice each day this past week, and was the only player listed as questionable on San Francisco’s final injury report with knee and ribs injuries. There wasn’t much doubt about his status for the game, though.
Cornerback Greg Mabin is the only player who was ruled out ahead of time (you know, aside from the slew of players on injured reserve), but the inactives list was expected to look virtually identical to the way it did when the 49ers took on the Tennessee Titans in Week 16. Mabin also missed that game with an injury
Defensive end Aaron Lynch is inactive, which is a bit disappointing. After it looked like he was done for the season, he got some playing time and performed well in recent weeks, but it seems like the Lynch experiment is over, as Ronald Blair is active in his place.
For the Jaguars, both wide receivers Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns are inactive. That’s a big blow to their offense, but it wasn’t unexpected.
49ers inactives: DL Aaron Lynch, DL Leger Douzable, DL D.J. Jones, LB Pita Taumoepenu, DB Greg Mabin, DB Antone Exum Jr., WR Max McCaffrey
Jaguars inactives: WR Marqise Lee, WR Allen Hurns, OT Wll Poehls, G Josh Walker, G Chris Reed, LB Carroll Phillips, DT Eli Ankou
