It’s safe to say we’ll be hearing more and more from opposing players about the impressive play of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. There have been numerous tweets from players around the league, and the latest comes from Calais Campbell.
I still don’t know how @JimmyG_10 got this ball off! Talk about a quick release! Much respect to him✊ https://t.co/GuGoFf64VK

Campbell and the Jaguars got a lot of pressure on Garoppolo this past weekend, but the 49ers quarterback was able to regularly get rid of the ball before the pressure got to him. The Jaguars ended up with one sack and four hits on Garoppolo, which was a huge win for the 49ers, given the Jaguars top-ranked pass rush.
Garoppolo’s internal clock has been a huge boon for the 49ers offensive line. The unit has been inconsistent much of this season, and we saw the problems that caused for C.J. Beathard. The 49ers rookie quarterback struggled with line breakdowns, but also with his own internal clock. That’s an area he will need to work on as he develops. But with Jimmy Garoppolo arriving as the clear starter, the 49ers have a guy who knows to get rid of the ball before the pass rush takes him down.
