Golden Nuggets: 49ers finally make coordinator hires

Sunday, February 19th, 2017 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

The San Francisco 49ers have a coaching staff, or at least one that’s close enough to complete that we can say that. I see a lot of young guys who are big question marks, including head coach Kyle Shanahan.

I don’t really have an opinion on Robert Saleh, the new defensive coordinator, nor do I have an opinion on the 49ers transitioning to a 4-3 defense. I suppose it makes sense with what has been invested in the defensive line in recent years, and it’s true that the 49ers ran a lot of formations that included four down linemen in recent years.

It will still be weird to see. It’s another reminder that the 49ers’ dominance at the inside linebacker spot is at an end. It’s pretty upsetting, given how well they have performed at the position for a long time now.

Onto the links for the day.
