Golden Nuggets: Adding To The Coaching Staff

Tuesday was a busy day for the 49ers. They announced 7 new coaching staff hires and John Lynch has his 1st free agency signing as a general manager. John Lynch also spoke on Tuesday about the situation with Colin Kaepernick and his views of Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner.

The 49ers added 7 new coaches to Kyle Shanahan’s coaching staff that included the hiring of All Pro linebacker DeMeco Ryans. Ryans was hired as defensive quality coach. DeMeco was a linebacker with the Houston Texans when Kyle Shanahan was an offensive assistant and newly hired DC Robert Salah was defensive assistant. The other hires were John Benton (offensive line coach), Daniel Bullocks (assistant defensive backs), Michael Clay (strength/conditioning assistant), Stan Kwan (assistant special teams), Vince Oghobaase (assistant defensive line), and Adam Stenavich (assistant offensive line).

John Lynch spoke on San Francisco radio on Tuesday morning. One of the topics was regarding Colin Kaepernick’s future in San Francisco. John said he was impressed with Colin when he met him during the 49ers Super Bowl run. He expects to watch more film on Colin and will keep open communication and honesty in dealing with Colin. John also mentioned that 1st round picks Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner will fit well in the 49ers new defensive scheme. He wants to cut them loose and be more aggressive this season.
