Kyle Shanahan, John Lynch scheduled to speak at 2017 NFL Combine

The full schedule is out for GM and head coach interviews at the 2017 NFL Combine.

The 2017 NFL Combine gets going next week, and that means general managers and head coaches will be available at press conferences. The first players arrive on Tuesday, February 28, but starting Wednesday, we get to hear from the coaches and GMs.

The NFL announced the current schedule, subject to some change. San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan will meet with the media on Wednesday, March 1 at 11:30 a.m. PT. General manager John Lynch will meet with the media on Thursday, March 2 at 8:15 a.m. PT. We will have transcripts of the interviews, and NFL Network will carry some of them. There is a lot happening during the Combine, but NFL Network usually gets most of the interviews televised at some point.

Since the introductory press conference, Kyle Shanahan has done one radio interview, while John Lynch has had several such interviews. The Combine is usually the last we hear from the GM or coach until the offseason workout program begins. Lynch was in broadcast media after his playing career, so it is possible he will continue to be more readily available for radio interviews. I don’t expect Shanahan to regularly appear on the radio in the offseason, but I would not be surprised to see him and Lynch both get some extra media time during the Combine. The NFL Network set will bring on current and former coaches and executives for some additional comments beyond the press conferences. I could see one or both making an appearance on set.
