Kendall Hunter signs with CFL’s Toronto Argonauts

The former 49er looks to get back from injury.

Former San Francisco 49ers running back Kendall Hunter has found himself a new opportunity. Hunter has signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL, according to Justin Dunk of 3 Down Nation.

The 49ers drafted Hunter in 2011, and he spent five years with the team. He looked set to emerge as a significant complementary option to Frank Gore, but injuries derailed his career. He suffered a torn Achilles in November 2012. He returned and played the full 2013 season, but then suffered a torn ACL during 2014 training camp. He tried to return in 2015, but was eventually released with an injury settlement.

Hunter joined the Saints later in 2015, and played two games before another injury late in the season. He was out of football this past season, but now he gets a chance to see if he can make a go of it. Best wishes to Hunter as he looks to get another wind on his football career.
