Kyle Shanahan coaching staff could be taking shape soon

The 49ers have ground to make up, but it sounds like there are some names already on the radar.

The potential coaching staff of presumptive San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan appears to be taking shape. Sporting News NFL columnist Alex Marvez has been reporting on Shanahan staff rumors over the past week, and he has more to offer.

On Monday, he tweeted that he is targeting Robert Saleh and Jerome Henderson as co-defensive coordinators. He added that Shanahan’s staff will likely included Jon Embree as tight ends coach and assistant head coach, Jeff Hafley as defensive backs coach, and Tarver in a role. Additionally, Falcons offensive assistant Mike McDaniel will likely come over as wide receivers coach.

We’ll be doing more analysis of all the candidates, but in the meantime, the coaching staff is starting to take shape. There is no word yet on if running backs coach Tom Rathman will return to the staff. Additionally, there have been reports Shanahan might target Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores for the DC role. In the meantime, here is where things could stand if these deals get worked out:
