The San Francisco 49ers coaching staff is slowly coming together, and while the team will not confirm anything until hirings are final, there are plenty of rumors. The latest comes from Adam Caplan, and concerns the special teams coordinator job.

A little over a week ago, Sporting News NFL columnist Alex Marvez reported that the 49ers were expected to hire Chicago Bears assistant special teams coach Richard Hightower to run their special teams. There had been some questions about which assistants Kyle Shanahan might be able to bring with him from Atlanta, so it is possible Sutulovich became an option, or he or Hightower will serve in an assistant role.
The big changes to the 49ers front office and coaching staff will make for some interesting special teams roster decisions. Special teams coaches often have their personal favorites they will push the team to sign. The 49ers will be overhauling much of their roster this offseason and beyond, and players on just for special teams purposes could easily be out the door as part of that overhaul.
Here is a look at Sutulovich’s resume:
1997-99: Offensive Grad Assistant, Louisiana Tech
2000-01: Offensive GA, Pittsburgh
2001: Offensive Coordinator, Fort Scott Community College
2002: Assistant, Kansas
2002-05: Assistant Special Teams, Houston Texans
2008: Offensive Assistant, Detroit Lions
2009: Assistant Special Teams, Atlanta Falcons
