Kirk Cousins has lost both his 1,000-yard receivers from last season, but it appears he will have at least one replacement. DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon have departed for greener pastures, but the team is expected to sign Terrelle Pryor, according to CSN Mid-Atlantic reporter JP Finlay. Adam Schefter is now reporting it will be a one-year deal, and Ian Rapoport has it at $8 million for the season.
The market for Pryor did not seem to materialize quite as much as many might have expected. The San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Tennessee Titans were all supposed to be interested in signing Pryor away from Cleveland, but nothing developed for them. And Philadelphia went well away from Pryor, instead signing Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith.
The Eagles signed Jeffery to a one-year deal, and so both Jeffery and Pryor will look to prove something and get a big deal next year. Jeffery is looking to show he can stay healthy, while Pryor is looking to show he can build on his one strong year as a receiver.
The 49ers were rumored to be interested in both receivers, but it never materialized beyond that initial rumor. The team has instead signed Pierre Garcon, Marquise Goodwin, and Aldrick Robinson to replenish a depleted depth chart.
