The San Francisco 49ers have been linked to several defensive tackles during this first week of free agency, but for the time being they seem set to sit it out. Dontari Poe, Johnathan Hankins, and Bennie Logan are among the defensive linemen still on the market, but the 49ers have not been connected to any of them lately.
We have not heard much of anything on Hankins or Logan, but Jason La Canfora has an update on Dontari Poe. The 49ers were connected to him during the tampering period, but for the time being, Poe is not set to meet with them.
Dontati Poe en route to Indy for 1st visit. Colts want him long term but that'll take big $. Poe willing to go 1yr route. ATL, MIA, OAK next

The 49ers signed Earl Mitchell to a four-year deal last week. It is not a sizable deal, but it seemed like a commitment to him as a base defense option, at least this year. That being said, the team clearly will look for any and all upgrades they can.
In the case of the defensive line, the team might have decided the prices are not in their wheelhouse for the time being, and instead want to focus on the 2017 NFL Draft. There are some high quality talents available on the line if the 49ers want to go that way next month. I would be surprised if they drafted Jonathan Allen at No. 2, but there is depth in this year’s draft, so the team can potentially wait and see what they can grab a little further down.
