Starting our second week of Scouting 49ers Scouts - pro day edition, we move on to March 13th workouts, where a few notable prospects impressed yesterday in front of 49ers' scouts. Keep in mind, although it's unlikely to track every pro day (14 scheduled yesterday) representatives from the 49ers will/have attend(ed) throughout the process, we will pass along those visits the team has been reported to be represented.

On Friday, March 10th, scouts for the 49ers attended pro days at Montana, Albany State, and Laval (Quebec).

Just a quick update on Northern Colorado's QB Kyle Sloter (scouts for the 49ers attended his pro day at Colorado). With throwing velocity being highlighted on Twitter (below 55 is supposed to be bad - check out Joe Montana Is GOAT’s Fanpost on Deshaun Watson), Sloter was measured at 58 mph. I have some game film on Sloter posted in the March 9th pro days article. If you are looking for a sleeper pick at QB, Sloter could be it.

Speaking of quarterbacks, per A.J. Mazzolini - covering Montana football for the Missoulian, the 49ers were in attendance at Montana's pro day. Key prospect of interest, QB Brady Gustafson. At 6-foot-7 and 230 pounds, Gustafson performed in all drills running a 4.90 40, a 1.70 10-yard split, a 34" vertical jump, a 9'0" broad jump, a 4.45 20-yard shuttle, and a 7.09 3-cone.

Gustafson is a very tall quarterback thriving under a fun and dynamic Bob Stitt offense. The former high school basketball player displays good movement with the ability to navigate and move the pocket with his feet. Stands tall and poised in the pocket with the ideal height to keep eyes above defenders finding receivers. Showcases a big arm capable of making throws in all three levels of the field. Shows impressive arm strength and zip in tight windows and possesses solid touch, good ball placement (needs more consistency), good accuracy, and a fair job on anticipation throws.

Gustafson has shown the ability to read the entire field, but has a tendency to stare down receivers. Inconsistent on deep ball accuracy and mechanics (mostly lower half as well as a long delivery) is a work in progress. Moves well for a man his size and is not afraid to tuck the ball and run showing great toughness. Has shown the capacity to improve. Operates exclusively in shotgun, so will need work from operating under center.

Albany State

Per Tony Pauline, the 49ers were 1 of 32 teams salivating to see Albany State's DT Grover Stewart. Stewart did not disappoint, the 6-foot-5, 320 pound athlete ran a blazing 4.80 40 and had 37 reps on the bench press. After a great showing at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and impressing scouts at his pro day, the physical and explosive Stewart is one to keep an eye on on Day 3 of the NFL Draft.

Laval (Quebec)

Per Stéphane Cadorette - Québec sports journalist, the 49ers were in attendance at Laval's pro day (49ers Regional Scout Tariq Ahmad seen on the video below at the 0.37 mark). The star of the show was tight end Antony Auclair. After a great showing at the East-West Shrine game, Auclair impressed scouts in workouts despite suffering a pulled hamstring 10 days ago. The 6-foot-5, 256 pound tight end displayed toughness playing though the injury running a 4.82 40, a 33.5" vertical jump, a 9'9" broad jump, a 4.33 20-yard shuttle, a 7.28 3-come, and had 22 reps on the bench press. Further measurables include 10 3/8" hand size, 34 1/8" arm length, and a 79 1/4" wingspan.

Below are some draft-eligible prospects to keep an eye on from the pro days 49ers scouts attended:

QB Brady Gustafson, No. 7, 6057 - 230 lbs., 4.97 40
DE Caleb Kidder, No. 37, 6'5" - 259 lbs., 5.00 40
CB J.R. Nelson, No. 18, 6'2" - 171 lbs., 4.59 40

Albany State
RB Jarvis Small, No. 2, 5'7" - 206 lbs., 4.67 40
DT Grover Stewart, No. 99, 6'5" - 320 lbs., 4.80 40

Laval (Quebec)
TE Antony Auclair, No. 81, 6'6" - 256 lbs., 4.86 40

On the slate for Monday, March 13th: Kansas State, Liberty, Nebraska, Newberry, Northwestern, Richmond, South Carolina, West Georgia, and Youngstown State.
