Kyle Juszczyk excited to be reunited with Jeremy Zuttah

The 49ers fullback was hoping to potentially land his former teammate.

The San Francisco 49ers acquired center Jeremy Zuttah in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens, and Kyle Juszczyk is likely pretty excited about the addition.

Earlier in the day, there were reports that the Ravens were going to release Zuttah. The team needed to clear cap space, and while he did earn a Pro Bowl alternate nod, there were just enough question marks that they did not feel comfortable paying him $3.5 million next season.

When word first got out that Zuttah was going to be released, former Ravens fullback, and new 49ers “offensive weapon” Kyle Juszczyk had a comment about the news.

I’m guessing Juszczyk did not make the deal happen, but I am curious when the 49ers decided to make a push for Zuttah. There were reports Baltimore was trying to deal him when they finally decided to release him. However, it’s also likely they leaked the news to drum up some trade interest. It worked as the 49ers were willing to make the move.

For the time being, Kyle Juszczyk is already paying for himself!
