Golden Nuggets: Jim Helping His Old Team’s New GM

A former head coach of the San Francisco 49ers is helping the 49ers once again. GM John Lynch spoke to former coach Jim Harbaugh, head coach of Michigan. There are a good amount of quality draft prospects coming out of Michigan this year and Jim gave John some valuable information regarding his draft prospects. John was in Arizona for the owners’ meeting when he spoke with Jim.

Jim Harbaugh’s brother, John made some comments regarding former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick and his free agency status. He did not think that Colin is being blackballed from the league. He also believes that Colin will eventually sign with a team this offseason. A report came out saying that Colin is looking for around $9 million a year and a chance at a starting job, which some people in Kap’s camp refuted. Most teams likely see him as a backup.

With the draft coming up quickly, the 49ers brought in their 1st player for a pre-draft visit. Teams are given 30 visits with draft prospects. The 1st one was with Alabama star LB Reuben Foster. Reuben was at the NFL combine, but was kicked out after fighting with an employee at a hospital. He later apologized to all the NFL teams in a letter. Reuben is expected to be a 1st round pick and the 49ers are in need of linebackers. He is a possible candidate for the #2 overall selection.
