Golden Nuggets: Approaching the final stretch before the 2017 NFL Draft

A daily compilation of 49ers links from around the net. Thursday, March 30th, 2017 edition.

Good morning! The NFL owners’ meetings are official a wrap, and April arrives on Saturday. Next week marks the final week of Pro Days, so I will say after that we enter the final stretch before the 2017 NFL Draft.

Once Pro Days end, we’ll see the rest of official visits happen. The 49ers hosted Reuben Foster for an official visit, but as of Tuesday had not conducted any other visits. They have 30 total, so more of those are likely scheduled out for the coming weeks. The 49ers will also host their local Pro Day, which is when players who attended Bay Area colleges and high schools can visit the 49ers facility in Santa Clara. They don’t count as part of the 30 official visits. I guess this also means the Raiders have two-to-three more years in which they can invite Bay Area prospects to the Pro Day. Then, it’s Nevada prospects.

The other notable date between now and the draft is the schedule release. Adam Schefter reported the NFL is aiming to release the schedule the week of April 17-21. That is the week before the draft, which is when it almost always happens.
