2017 NFL free agency preview: Offensive line considerations as Chargers release D.J. Fluker

With free agency approaching, it is time to run down the 49ers roster, looking at cap space and free agency possibilities.

The Los Angeles Chargers have released offensive lineman D.J. Fluker, and with the free agency tampering period getting started at 9 a.m. PT, the offensive line is an interesting position for the 49ers to consider.

The 49ers have Joe Staley and Trent Brown at the tackle positions, Joshua Garnett and Zane Beadles at the guard positions, and Daniel Kilgore at center. We have no idea what the 49ers new coaches and front office think of the current alignment, but at the very least, the team is hopefully considering how to upgrade from Zane Beadles.

Although Beadles is not particularly effective, he does have value as a guy who can play all five positions on the line. The 49ers have lacked any kind of depth along the line for some time, and with Andrew Tiller hitting free agency, they lack much in the way of additional options.

If we are looking specifically at guard, the top of the free agency market includes Kevin Zeitler, T.J. Lang, Larry Warford, and Ronald Leary. Fluker is versatile, but has not exactly been particularly good, so he would likely slip a little further down. The biggest question from this group would Lang, who is dealing with some foot and hip issues heading into the start of free agency.

Here is a rundown of all the offensive line
