Exciting days we’re living, sports fans. The NFL Draft looms on the horizon, a mere two weeks away. As we get closer and closer, news has come out that the Browns aren’t 100% on Garrett at #1, and Lynch has listened to offers for the #2 picks. Before these whispers rear their heads, it might have been argued that the 49ers were at a relative disadvantage: their pick was to be defined by the Browns picking Garrett, reaching at #2, or taking a trade discount due to Lynch’s inexperience. This combination of rumors certainly breathes some life into even the most pessimistic of fans.
Beyond that, the team has been meeting with prospects up and down the draft board, at a variety of positions. Between the recent meeting with QB Davis Webb (sure to excite a fair portion of 49er fans) and the Local Pro Day, which offered a chance for hopeful draftees to visit the 49ers without counting as an official visit, a large amount of talent has had a chance to be analyzed by the new look front office.
Luckily, the offseason lull has let up temporarily in the lead-up to the draft (and offseason workouts!), meaning we have more than just a few nuggets today. Enjoy!
