Golden Nuggets: Less than two weeks until the draft

Your San Francisco 49ers links for Saturday, April 15th, 2017

Only the San Francisco 49ers would find a way to lose 14 games and get them into a draft where the quarterbacks were thin and the 2nd pick isn’t as coveted as previous years. All the mock drafts have been all over the place. The 49ers take a quarterback, the 49ers take a defensive player, the 49ers take Miles Garrett.

With the draft fast approaching, I’m going to be a realist: the 49ers are stuck at number 2 where they will probably take a defensive player (not Garrett). I’m fine with it. Given the scenarios presented and the people beind the wheel, I’m fine with a qb in later rounds to sit and learn. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch aren’t Trent Baalke. Until I see things go terribly wrong (like the 2012 draft) I’ll trust they know who is a steal and where to go with the QB position.

Or, with how little talent there is on this roster, they know they’ll have a shot at a quarterback next year. Either way, this begins the rebuilding, and it won’t be over after one draft.

Enough rambling. Let’s get to the links!
