Malik Hooker, Budda Baker not pleased with Louis Riddick comments

Draft prospects gotta stick together!

Twitter really can be the best. The latest example comes courtesy of one of the top prospects in the 2017 NFL draft. First, ESPN analyst Louis Riddick offered up a criticism of free safety Malik Hooker. He said that Jamal Adams could do everything Hooker does if asked to play that role, but the reverse is not true.

Hooker discovered the tweet and offered up a pretty simple response.

That would seem to be enough, but then safety Budda Baker offered some support for his fellow safety, telling him to ignore the haters.

Hooker is a distinct possibility for the 49ers at No. 2. If they decide to pass on Hooker and Jamal Adams and want to look safety in the second round, Budda Baker is an option.

I don’t know how serious an option Louis Riddick was as a general manager candidate for the 49ers, but it is intriguing to see what he might have preferred at the No. 2 pick. Personally, I’d be happy with either Hooker or Adams at No. 2. Adams brings more experience. Hooker seems to have more range, but Adams is no slouch in that regard. I don’t know if the 49ers are focused on Jimmie Ward at free safety, but if not, I would be down for either safety at No. 2.
