Golden Nuggets: Welcome aboard, Tim Hightower

Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Good morning everyone. Hopefully, you all made it out of April Fools Day without too much of a headache. As a sports journalist, April Fools can be a hellish nightmare of a “holiday” but somehow I managed to avoid the Internet for much of the day. Actually, I was avoiding the Internet on the 31st as well because that’s just how April Fools has evolved in recent years.

As it turns out, that means I missed the signing of running back Tim Hightower. I don’t actually know how I feel about the signing overall, mostly because I have to watch some film on him first. Hightower looked in 2010 like he might have a bright future in the league when he put up 736 yards and five touchdowns for the Arizona Cardinals, but he never really panned out.

Hightower had 133 carries for 548 yards and four touchdowns with the New Orleans Saints last season. I suppose that’s, ultimately, a good kind of player to have around with the injury history of starter Carlos Hyde.

But let’s get to your links for the day, shall we?
