The NFL Draft is a wrap for another year, and the time has come for undrafted free agency. This is always the wildest part of draft weekend. Undrafted players will commit to multiple teams, teams will change their minds about a player, and really just all sorts of other craziness will take place. The 49ers have 84 players on their roster following the draft. That leaves them six spots for UDFAs to fill out the 90-man roster.
The 49ers ended up with six defensive players and four offensive players, but it likely won’t dictate exactly what they do in undrafted free agency. UDFAs are lottery tickets that you hope to develop into a decent talent. The 49ers have managed to turn some of them into impact players, but there are no guarantees. So, you just find the best players you can regardless of position, and hope for the best.
