The San Francisco 49er have made a trade! Adam Schefter is reporting the team dealt a 2018 fourth round pick to the Denver Broncos for running back Kapri Bibbs and a 2017 fifth round pick. The 49ers now have three 5th round picks coming up today.
Bibbs stands 5’11, 203 pounds, and entered the NFL in 2014 as an undrafted free agent. He spent his first year on the Broncos practice squad, and then most of his second year. He made the 53-man roster in 2016, and in 12 games he had 29 rushes for 129 yards.
49ers GM John Lynch had his last significant NFL playing time with the Denver Broncos. He handled preseason TV analyst work for them the past few years, so he has a lengthy relationship with Broncos GM John Elway. I’m not at all surprised they worked out a trade.
Here’s where the 49ers draft picks now stand for today.

2. First round: Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
3. Third round: Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
