The 2017 NFL draft is officially a wrap, and the San Francisco 49ers loaded up in the trenches. The new front office and coaching stuff had a lot of holes to fill in the rebuilding process. They ended up leaning defense with six such picks. They had a nice mix, drafting two defensive linemen, two linebackers, and two cornerbacks. On offense, they added a quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end.
The San Francisco 49ers ended up making ten picks over the past three days. The C.J. Beathard pick was a head-scratcher, and while you can raise some questions about others, the team walked away with a solid class, and an additional second and third round pick next year.
Here is a rundown of the 49ers entire 2017 NFL Draft class. We'll have plenty of analysis and background information on the 49ers entire draft class in the coming days, weeks and months.
1 (3). Solomon Thomas, DL, Stanford
1 (31). Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
3 (2). Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
3 (40). C.J. Beathard, QB, Iowa
4 (15). Joe Williams, RB, Utah
5 (2). George Kittle, TE, Iowa
5 (34). Trent Taylor, WR, Louisiana Tech
6 (14). D.J. Jones, DT, Ole Miss

It is important to also note that the close of the draft does not complete the 49ers rookie class. Things are about to get really wild as the 49ers dive into the wild west that is undrafted free agency. Any player that was not drafted can sign with any team. We will hear a ton of rumors, with nothing fully confirmed until the team announces it. Odds are good at least one or two players will commit to multiple teams, leading to plenty of craziness.
We’ll be back with our UDFA tracker in a bit.
