It’s a rather quiet Sunday, and since I’m not a big golf fan, I have not been watching the Masters. If you are a fan, it sounds like it’s been a fun Sunday. But, instead, I filed my taxes and ran through a seven-round mock draft on Fanspeak.
If you’ve never used Fanspeak, it’s a fun tool that lets you run mock drafts, anywhere from one round to seven round. You get to pick the big board you’ll use, considering from quite a few options. I went with the Inside The Pylon big board, but feel free to play around with whatever you want.
They have a premium version that allows for trades, but I went with the free, basic version. I decided to go cornerback in the first round, and while I am inclined to take safety Malik Hooker, I thought I’d roll the dice on Marshon Lattimore. It proved to be a wise decision, as safety Jamal Adams inexplicably slipped to the second round. There are some question marks surrounding Adams, but I’d be stunned if he lasted to the 49ers pick at No. 34.
Here are all my 49ers picks, including an amusing choice at quarterback.
1(2). Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
2(34). Jamal Adams, S, LSU
3(66). Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina
4(109). Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
4(143). Ethan Pocic, C, LSU
5(146). Trey Hendrickson, Edge, Florida Atlantic
5(161). Elijah Lee, LB, Kansas state
6(198). Aaron Jones, RB, UTEP
6(202). Chad Kelly, QB, Ole Miss
7(219). Treston DeCoud, CB, Oregon State
I was hoping to grab QB Joshua Dobbs with pick 198, but he went ten picks earlier. I could have gone with DeShone Kizer at pick 34, but with Jamal Adams, it was not going to happen. QBs went fast in different areas, and so rather than grab someone late particularly random, I thought I’d grab the big arm. I highly doubt the 49ers draft Kelly, but what the heck, right?
Thoughts on what I put together?
