EA Sports announced on Friday that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is going to be on the cover of Madden 18. They are producing it as a bit of a special edition, referring to it as the “G.O.A.T. edition.” This marks his first appearance on the cover of a Madden game.
Here’s a look at the cover.

Brady said he is not concerned about the Madden cover curse. He is the second straight Patriots player to appear on the cover, following Rob Gronkowski. Gronk played only eight games last season, adding to the legend of the curse. The Patriots season obviously went incredibly well, and this year, the Patriots are heavy favorites to repeat as champions.
However, the G.O.A.T. edition is certainly a strong message. I’d personally prefer a Jerry Rice or Joe Montana “G.O.A.T” cover, but in light of Brady’s latest Super Bowl win, the cover is not at all surprising. Time to photoshop it!
