Colin Kaepernick getting odds for eventual landing spot

I’m leaning towards “No Active Roster” as the value bet.

Colin Kaepernick’s future in the NFL remains a mystery, and now you can wager on it! As is so often the case, our friends at Odds Shark have come across odds related to Colin Kaepernick’s next team. BetOnline.ag is offering a bet on where Kaepernick ends up when Week 1 arrives. Here are the three options:

  • Seattle Seahawks +140 (bet $100 to win $140)
  • Any Other NFL Team +140
  • No Active Roster +250 (bet $100 to win $250)

We’ve heard plenty of rumblings about the Seattle Seahawks as a potential landing spot. Pete Carroll acknowledged the team needs a quarterback, and Mike Silver reported the Seahawks GM was in touch with Kaepernick’s agent. Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril have both said they like the idea of such a move, and we know the Seahawks locker room seems plenty comfortable with players involved in social activism.

That being said, if I was going to place any wager, it would be on no active roster when Week 1 arrives. I hope he lands somewhere, but I just have this feeling we see him out of the NFL when the season starts. Injury concerns could change that for the Seahawks or any other team, and as has been repeatedly discussed, the Seahawks do make sense. But I think no active roster is the better value proposition at the moment.

Which of the three would you bet on?
