Adrian Colbert was picked in the seventh round of the NFL Draft, but that didn’t do anything to dampen his excitement to be a member of the San Francisco 49ers.
“I mean, just getting the opportunity to come and help out this club and after going through what I've been through throughout my whole collegiate career,” said Colbert.
“I mean, it's just a blessing to get that call from [49ers’ general manager] John [Lynch].”
Injuries moved the defensive back from Texas to the University of Miami, where he finished 2016 with 22 tackles, one interception, and three passes defended. The college change moved him from safety to cornerback, which is where he will start in San Francisco.
