It’s a good day!

Happy birthday to San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana!

49ers GM John Lynch tweeted out a Happy birthday greeting, and made sure to include one of the best pictures in 49ers history. This picture of Joe Montana and Bill Walsh on a knee talking through a play remains one of the most iconic portraits in franchise history.

There will be plenty of discussion about who is the greatest of all time, and where Tom Brady and Joe Montana fit in. Brady now has more Super Bowl victories, but I’d still say Joe Montana was the greatest “Super Bowl quarterback” of all time. He played in four Super Bowls, during which he completed 68 percent of his passes for 1,142 yards, with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions, and a passer rating of 127.8. And of course, he won all four of his Super Bowl appearances.

Happy birthday to Joe Cool!
