NFL training camp is a month away, but football fans can get a little fix in with an interesting flag football competition going down in the Bay Area.
The American Flag Football League is a new professional sports league that is planning on launching in the summer of 2018. In the meantime, they are playing a “launch game” on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. PT, at Avaya Field in San Jose. It will feature some notable former NFL players, including Terrell Owens, Michael Vick, Chad Ochocinco, and Jimmy Clausen, among many others. I’ve posted the depth charts below.
I’ve got some tickets to the game for Bay Area folks who might be interested in checking out TO and Vick playing flag football. If you’re interested in them, let me know in the comments, and I’ll get in touch with you to get you the tickets via email.
The league itself is launching in 2018, but this first game is sort of a promo type of deal. Jeff Garcia is not playing in the game, but will be handling color commentary. You can read more about the rules here, and here’s an interesting feature on it.
