Derek Carr signed his big money contract extension earlier this week, and on Friday, the Oakland Raiders brought him in for a press conference to discuss the deal. During the press conference, Carr talked about the importance of the team, and how he didn’t care about his own stats so long as the team was winning.
That resulted in a line that I’m sure was meant in good fun, but offered up an inadvertent jab at the Seattle Seahawks. Carr said there would be no situation where they’re on the one-yard line and he does not hand the ball to Marshawn Lynch. The Raiders signed Lynch this offseason, and nobody is going to forget about the Seahawks decision to throw it instead of run it in.
It’s really not a big deal, but obviously we can enjoy it nonetheless!
