Former 49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock will be arraigned on Tuesday due to a domestic violence arrest. He is being charged with felony domestic violence and misdemeanor child endangerment. When GM John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan came in, they determined that his situation meant that Tramaine would not be a 49er and released him.
Tramaine was the 49ers starting cornerback for the last 2 seasons and had been on the team since 2010. But the new duo of Lynch and Shanahan made it very clear that situations like Brock’s would not be tolerated in their organization. They made the decision to release him quickly and it was the absolute right decision.
The details of the event are very disturbing. He is accused of punching and strangling his girlfriend due to their disagreement over what to watch on tv. Police reportedly saw visible marks on her neck. Due to these actions, Tramaine faces a potential 5 year prison sentence.
