The big news of the day is that the 3-day skill-position workout in Dallas over. All four QBs on the roster (Brian Hoyer, Matt Barkley, C.J. Beathard, Nick Mullens) were on hand. Wide receivers Marquise Goodwin, Aldrick Robinson, Trent Taylor, DeAndre Smelter, Jeremy Kerley, Victor Bolden, DeAndre Carter, and Kendrick Bourne showed up, as well as tight ends Vance McDonald, Cole Hikutini, and fan favorite George Kittle. The sole RB on hand was Kapri Bibbs. According to a social media post by Barkley, the time was spent working on the playbook & routes, along with general conditioning and lifting.
Everything else is pretty generic - Joe Theismann weighed in on the Kaepernick drama, DeAngelo Williams divulged that he grew up a 49er fan, and one of the Washington Redskins beat writers went on air stating that he couldn’t see Cousins going anywhere but SF if he doesn’t get locked up by the Skins.
Oddly enough, yesterday had 3 articles relating to 49ers finances - even 1 article on their finances is something of a rarity. The team made Top 10 on Forbes’ list of most valuable franchises, tied with the Lakers at $3 billion. Otherwise, a city-sponsored audit came out stating that the 49ers owe local taxpayers for overages in staff hours (police, fire, etc.). Finally, the team will be receiving $55 million (total) over the next decade from the NFL, as part of the distribution of a collective ~$1.5 billion in relocation fees paid by the Raiders, Chargers, and Rams. Maybe they can use that to pay the local citizenry back.
