Golden Nuggets: Training camp slowly approaches for 49ers

Sunday, July 16th, 2017 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Good morning everyone. Things are still slow, but training camp is creeping ever closer. When that happens, we’ll get an explosion of San Francisco 49ers news, most of it positive. I imagine we’ll be seeing quite a few “the defense is destroying the offense” stories, and we’ll hear a lot of good things about the young guys.

We’ll be unable to separate the hype and rhetoric from reality and personally, I think that’s totally fine. It shouldn’t all be doom and gloom, even if we are, in fact, perpetually doomed. We’re all very, very doomed and the 49ers are especially doomed.

But they’ll be less doomed during training camp and leading up to the preseason. The preseason itself could be miserable, because it’s boring, but I’m sure we’re all looking forward to seeing what a Kyle Shanahan training camp looks like in his first year as a head coach.

Let’s get on to your links for the day. There aren’t many, and most are old.
