Rams acquire Sammy Watkins from Bills, Eagles send Jordan Matthews to Bills

Big trades!

The Buffalo Bills are going crazy this morning! The Bills announced they have acquired cornerback E.J. Gaines and a 2018 2nd round pick from the Los Angeles Rams for wide receiver Sammy Watkins and a 2018 6th round pick. Additionally, they acquired wide receiver Jordan Matthews and a 2018 3rd round pick from the Eagles for CB Ronald Darby.

So, um, yea, that’s certainly a quick roster overhaul. The 49ers will get to face off against Watkins twice this season, and that is certainly a help to Rams quarterback Jared Goff. Prior to this deal, the Rams had veterans Robert Woods, Tavon Austin, and Mike Thomas, along with rookie Cooper Kupp and Josh Reynolds.

Goff is coming off an atrocious rookie season, and the Rams are doing whatever they can to boost his chances of improving in year two. They’ve added considerable offensive talent, and brought in offensive guru Sean McVay to serve as head coach. The pressure is on Goff to show some significant improvement in year two.
