Rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard will make his NFL debut tonight when the San Francisco 49ers face the Kansas City Chiefs. The former Iowa quarterback was a surprise pick in the third round, but reports have been extremely positive for him through the first two weeks of training camp. On Thursday, Kyle Shanahan said that Beathard has earned the right to compete with Matt Barkley for the backup QB job.
If Beathard can build on his first two weeks tonight against the Chiefs backup defense, folks in Iowa are going to be going crazy. A bar in Iowa City called The Summit is hosting a C.J. Beathard viewing party, and with $1 shots during the game, it will be, as the kids like to say, LIT!
The CJ Beathard viewing party starts tonight at 8 when the 49rs take on the Chiefs. Like always, we'll be pouring $1 TEQUILA shots! pic.twitter.com/2kdwOh8zrH

I imagine this is not going to be the only viewing party in Iowa. Beathard likely has a sizable contingent of fans from Iowa City (307 miles from KC), and family in Tennessee that will make the trip to Kansas City. But for those who can’t make the trip, things are about to get wild for Iowa fans.
