Solomon Thomas is the star of Rashard Robinson’s interception

We like seeing the rookie stand out early.

The San Francisco 49ers new-look defense forced its first turnover of the preseason with Rashard Robinson intercepting Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Tyler Bray. It was a rough start for Robinson, but he had a couple solid plays on that drive, and the interception is always a plus.

However, the star of the interception was defensive tackle Solomon Thomas. The rookie got some push with a bull rush. Bray stepped up to Thomas’ left and the defensive tackle adjusted to go after him. Bray threw a bit off-balance and it was well off-line. Robinson got a hand on it and turned it into an interception.

Tank Carradine got the start at defensive end, but the 49ers rotated Thomas in with some of the first team defense. Most of the first team is off at this point, but Thomas remains in and the rotating along the line continues. The defense had some issues on the first drive, but there were at least a few positives to take away.

How about another great move here:
