Jeremy Zuttah is talking to the Ravens

The very team that traded him to the 49ers may now welcome him back.

Well this is always interesting when it happens. It seems like recently released San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Jeremy Zuttah is talking to the Baltimore Ravens. Why is this so interesting? Well the Ravens were the ones who traded him away to the 49ers in the first place.

The news comes from Ravens beat writer Mike Preston:

Zuttah came to the 49ers as part of a trade involving the Niners and Ravens swapping 6th round picks. There was some optimism he’d help take the much maligned line to the next level, but instead what we were seeing wasn’t looking too hot. It may have been more of a bad fit in the system instead of athletic ability, but regardless, he was getting passed over on the depth chart by other players and failed to get the center job from Daniel Kilgore. A new job isn’t out of the question, but it’s rather amusing it’d be to the team that just offloaded him for a swap of 6th round picks.

We’ll see where this goes. After Ryan Mallet had a less than desirable preseason performance on Friday night, perhaps the Ravens look to add another former 49ers starter to their roster as well as Zuttah?

Do you see Zuttah going back to the Ravens?
