49ers injury report: Some new additions following preseason opener

The 49ers added some names, but nothing super surprising at this point.

The San Francisco 49ers return to practice on Monday following their preseason opener, and the injury report includes a couple new additions. As expected DeForest Buckner is out, but some new names who will miss practice included defensive lineman Ronald Blair (groin), wide receiver Aaron Burbridge (hamstring), safety Chanceller James (knee), and linebacker Jayson DiManche (hamstring).

Cornerback Dontae Johnson (concussion) has been upgraded from out to limited. He will not have any contact, but will be a participant. Tight end George Kittle and lineacker Brock Coyle are listed with hamstring and rib injuries, respectively, but both will get in some limited work.

Jimmie Ward remains on the PUP list with his hamstring injury. The team was expected to put him through some tests on Sunday to see where he stands. Defensive coordinator Robert Saleh is meeting with the media after practice, so I imagine he will get a question about Ward’s status.

Here’s the full injury report.
