Watch Jerry Rice take part in passing drills, Steve Young chatting with 49ers players, leadership

The San Francisco 49ers new leadership has talked about the importance of retaining a connection to the organization’s championship tradition, and they are backing up their words with actions. We’ve seen Charles Haley make regular appearances, and on Monday, they brought in the Hall of Fame tandem of Jerry Rice and Steve Young.

Rice was actually leading some initial workouts, and joined some of the wide receivers in drills. He ran some routes, and still looked pretty sharp.

In this video, we see him commit a false start at the start of some wide receiver sprints. I think he should have to run up the new conditioning hill.

In this video, he’s taking part in some additional warmups.

Steve Young was on hand as well. He did not take part in practice, but did chat with Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch.

And he also managed to hang around a bit with his former All-World wide receiver.
