Good morning, good evening, wherever you may be. I’ll be blunt, there’s an unusually large amount of material to sift through today. The big news is TBrock finding a 1 year job with the Seahawks (if he toggles back to Nickel CB, this could be a major pickup for the recently-struggling Seahawks secondary), and the starting Will linebacker spot being given to Reuben Foster.
Beyond that, RT Trent Brown has been showered in high praise (“Best RT in the NFL”) from arguably the premier sack artist in the NFL for a second consecutive year. I’ll have to research this another day, but either Von Miller and Trent Brown are cousins, or share the same agent. Trent Brown isn’t that far removed from “average” - this kind of salesmanship ought to be reserved for a Texans’ FO trying to pawn off Tom Savage.
Also, Vance McDonald was praised heavily by both Bay Area beat writers and the coaching staff of the 2017 San Francisco 49ers. In the immortal words of the great Sean Connery, “suck it long, and suck it hard, Germ”. McDonald is seemingly on pace to earn his keep on the 49ers’ 53-man roster, despite being a confirmed trade block candidate in the earlier phases of the offseason.
7th round CB-turned-Safety Adrian Colbert put a hurtin’ on a red-shirt (Star Trek, not NCAA eligibility) Denver TE during a non-contact session, and was the nucleus of a short-lived scuffle. He was held out to cool-down. Finally, GM John Lynch answered a ‘protest’ question in a manner that might be considered by some as “less than perfectly diplomatic”, and is probably about to be crucified.
